Often times moms are startled to see just how great simple areas of their home and life they see everyday make great settings for a family portrait.
Another unique aspect of Loose Park for family portraits is all the old, and unique trees that make for interesting backdrops and settings for your Kansas City family portraits.
Two sisters pick flowers and put them in one another’s hair during a family portrait at Lake Lenexa. As a Kansas City photograph studio, it is vitally important that we try and mold our photography to each of our clients. This helps children feel the most comfortable and relaxed. When they are comfortable and relaxed we are much more likely to capture images that not only look like your children but FEEL like your children too.
Wherever possible we like to try and help your children have fun on a family portrait session in Kansas City. This helps us to capture that unique spark that an overly posed photograph can’t find.
Sometimes simplicity is best for a mid-Winter portrait session. Forthis session we elected to do the session in the family’s backyard. Not only was it a more personal location but it helped to be able to run back indoors for everyone to get warm if we needed to. Boy did we need to!
For some families a more formal approach is a better fit for them and their story than a “lifestyle” approach. It’s most important to us here at Glow Imagery that our clients don’t feel as though they have to fit our style of photography. We want our photography to fit you and your family.
This family had a family farm located north of Kansas City. The land has been in the family’s care for more than three generations so we picked a late autumn morning to get the best light and headed north. We love places with a family history because it lets those who could not be a part of the portrait be a part of it. At our studio, we are Kansas CIty photographers obsessed with creating portraiture of your family that fits you and not try and make your family fit our photography.
This family loved to take walks together on a nature trail near their home. Creating a portrait tied to someplace personal for you and your family creates the extra benefit of having an image that captures this chapter in your lives no matter how your family changes or where it goes.
Kauffman Gardens is free and open to the public for portrait sessions however they do require photographers and their clients to follow some common sense rules while working there: stay off the plants, don’t pick anything, leave the place the way we found it and some other rules. Like we said, common sense stuff.
Some families are all about the water or a weekend at the lake. If we can’t make it to the lake you love the most. Shawnee Mission Lake is one of the popular choices to still get your family on the water for their Kansas City family portrait.
